Here is my first, built primarily under the eye of Al Carruth. Similiar to a Martin 0, but my own design... And my second, from the second challenge build of 2012, known as the Mesquite-O. Guitar is built entirely of south texas mesquite, save the top and bracing. |

ZekeM wrote: Jay, did you do all the inlay on your first? It looks incredible! Very nice. Yes, I did it all. Al helped me with the purfling, but the fretboard and headstock I did myself with a dremel and a 1/32" downcut bit. The inlays themselves were purchased, not cut from shell..... Thanks for the kind words! |

Nick, Thanks for the vote for the Mesquite-O! Judging by the pictures of your first, you needn't step up your game too much. I love your headstock design.... --jay |

My first was way back in 2008 since then have abandoned a tenor, moved house, and only recently had time to start building again... Was my own shape based originally on an OM plan - old German Spruce top (late 1980s!), Macassar Ebony B+S, Mahogany neck and Curly Koa bindings body, neck and headstock. Nitro finish which has now crackled after a temperature challenge, but a decent tone and opened up nice |

I adopted the 'kingfisher' as I started building when still living in East Sussex (am English although Mrs C is a Scot) and there was one that we used to see all the time in the local brook... I have sort of adapted teh design of the logo to a more illustrative design... but still needs works as now looks like the Aussie Cricket manufacturwrs logo! |

Lots of great looking instruments. When there is an ugly guitar contest, I will post a picture of my first. |

Here is my first build, the picture doesn't really emphasize the flame top very good, but I'm sure you get the idea. I still plan to strip it back down, route the recess for the tremolo a little deeper, as I don't get much up-pull, and shave down under the nut, as my action is quite stiff. and I think I have a small bit of tongue rise, so I may try take the frets down a little bit in the upper register. And then re-oil and polish it. when the weather is better of course. found a nicer picture of when i was oiling it, the flame shows up better here. |

Nice looking guitar, and the timber top pops. Always hard to get what you see in the picture you want to show. Looking forward to yours.... I just bought a couple nice chunks of silky oak(lacewood) that will one day turn into a thinline-type.....Yeah, one day, when I no longer need to work, and the wife doesn't have a honey-do list |
